We wanted to share some of the best local spots for shopping in Knoxville! You can find great merchandise, gifts, snacks, and so much more in all of these places. Check out some of the team’s favorites!
Mast General Store
Hey! My name is Keleigh my favorite local place to go shopping in Knoxville is Mast General Store. They are in the heart of downtown Knoxville on Gay street. Their nostalgic atmosphere is so fun to browse and they have so much to see. They have a large selection of merchandise from candy to camping gear and it will take hours just to see everything.
Nothing Too Fancy
Hi guys its Emily! My favorite place to go shopping in Knoxville is Nothing Too Fancy. This store is located in the most tourist-filled area of downtown, Market Square. In this store you can find local tshirts that represent different places around the Knoxville area. Most of the tshirt designs are quirky and something you can’t find anywhere else. Therefore, there is always something new each time you go into the store. The design of the store also gives you a retro feel which is exactly what their merchandise represents!
Knoxville Soap Candle & Gifts
Grace here! One of my favorite places in Knoxville to shop for gifts, trinkets, and all things yummy smelling is Knoxville Soap Candle & Gifts right on Gay Street! They feature more than 40 local artists and vendors in their shop, so you know you’re giving back to Knox when you buy. With one of the largest handmade jewelry selections, there’s always something new! My favorite are their handcrafted (and biodegradable!) soap selection. Be sure to check out the Smokey Mountain Rain scent, too!
Backroads, Wild Honey, & Creatively Southern
Hey there! My name is Sydney Alleman and over the years at school at UT I’ve come to find some really cool hidden gems. First, Backroads Market is one of my all time favorites. It’s a coffee shop combined with a retail store that sells local candles, shirts, bags, awesome furniture, stickers, etc. Everything you see there is for sale, plus you can get some awesome coffee while you’re there too. Second, Wild Honey Records is a really cool vintage vinyl record shop in Knoxville. If you have a friend that loves vintage records and thrift finds, this is the place for you. Lastly, Creatively Southern (located in The Southern Market on Homberg Place) has some awesome pieces that are made with so much love and time. They have awesome wall art and stickers that make great gifts as well.
