Best Ways to Exercise on UTK Campus

Run Club

There are many opportunities to exercise on UTK campus. The Run club is just one outstanding option. This student-led club is designed to seamlessly integrate exercise into your morning routine, providing a motivating environment alongside your peers. Gatherings take place at 5 pm on Tuesdays and 7 am on Thursdays outside of Calhoun’s, offering flexibility to accommodate different schedules. Whether you prefer a brisk jog or a leisurely stroll, participants have the freedom to set their own pace, typically covering distances of up to 4 miles. Not only does the Run Club provide a fantastic outlet for physical fitness, but it also fosters a sense of camaraderie among participants, making it a delightful way to kickstart your day with friends. Best of all, it’s entirely free and conveniently located, ensuring that anyone can join in the fun. Intramural Sports

Next, a great way for students to stay active on UTKs campus is to join intramurals. This is a great way for students to stay active and meet new people. The TRECS has multiple sports they offer including:  ultimate frisbee, kickball, flag football, basketball, dodgeball, inner tube water polo, sand volleyball, tennis, racquetball, soccer, and tennis. There are many more sports offered to students and faculty. Check the RecSports page because the sports offered change during the year depending on the season. There are multiple ways to find the information you may need for intramural sports: the email is imsports@utk.edu  or you can contact them by calling the number (865) 974-2382. TREC Facilities + Classes

Next, the Tennessee Recreation Center for Students (TRECS) is an excellent resource for students who are seeking exercise opportunities on UTKs campus. TRECS has something for everyone with indoor basketball courts, pickleball equipment available for rent, over 80 pieces of cardiovascular equipment, an indoor walking track, and an outdoor pool. Finally, if you are someone who wishes for guidance and instruction TRECS has group classes that are available for sign-up! Whether it be spin classes, HIIT workouts, or cardio dance you can find a group class for you!

Club Sports

Are you looking to keep your sports playing career alive? UTK offers a variety of club sports like baseball, soccer, golf, basketball, volleyball along with many others.  In addition, Club sports are a good way to stay active and a great opportunity to exercise on UTK campus. Also, club sports give you the opportunity to be apart of a team again.
