Best Knoxville Neighborhoods

Knoxville has a unique range of neighborhoods. From historical buildings and vibrant parks, to delicious cuisine, each neighborhood in Knoxville has something special to offer. If you’re looking for a new place in Knoxville to explore, we’ve got you covered!

Bearden

Bearden is an old community with a rich history dating all the way back to the 1700s. It’s a mix between older buildings and cultures and much more recent buildings that really bring the area together. There’s a wide variety of things to see and do in the neighborhood. You can grab some breakfast at one of the many restaurants in the area, visit some high-end art galleries if you’re in the mood, or even partake in one of Knoxville’s favorite pastimes: drinking beer. A popular place to stop by is the Bearden Beer Market because of their huge selection of cans and beer. On the other hand, if you’re feeling in the mood to take some pictures, visit the Everly Brothers Park or Koi Fish Mural to really spice up your Instagram feed. If you’re looking for one of the best Knoxville neighborhoods, Bearden is the place to go!

SoKno

South Knoxville, aka SoKno, is filled with historical homes, local restaurants, breweries, and parks. People of all ages can find something they love about South Knoxville, making it one of the best Knoxville neighborhoods. One of the highlights of SoKno is Ijams nature center, a scenic park that offers 10 miles of trails plus bike and canoe rentals. If you’re looking for great food and drink in SoKno, you have to check out Sevier Avenue. It has several breweries and restaurants with unique menus and ambiances. There’s also modern apartments and older, character-filled homes within walking distance of the restaurants and parks. South Knoxville offers something for everyone.

North Knox

North Knoxville is one of the oldest and historically rich neighborhoods in Knoxville. With the beautiful architecture and unique character of the late 1800’s, NoKno feels like an entirely different city. Once a popular suburb in the 1950’s, NoKno regained its popularity in recent years and has had an explosion in business growth. This includes breweries, restaurants, and cafe’s. Not only has business grown but NoKno continues to improve its parks, greenways, and historical preservation.

Old City

Old city provides a unique experience for people in Knoxville to explore, relax, dine, shop and socialize. During the day it is a nice place to wander around and take in the sights. You can get delicious food and coffee while you explore shops and art galleries in the “Creative Corridor”. As day turns to night, Old City is quite the night scene. Several pubs and nightclubs line the streets, making it easy to spend a little time at each for the full experience of Old City.
